I know many of you are professionals in photography so I'm hoping you can solve this dilemma. My camera is a Sony A65. I haven't used the camera for about two months and when I took it out of the bag today, I found a stripe running horizontally across the LCD and across the viewfinder. The stripe does not show up in Auto mode, but shows up in aperture mode and all others except auto. When I press the Dept of Field button, the stripe disappears, but returns when I release the DOF button. The stripe does not appear in the photos I take.
I have photographed the LCD screen with my point and shoot and have attached the photos here. Hopefully I won't have to send the camera for repair. I had to do that once with my A300 and it was expensive$$$$$.
Thanks for any advice.
In Auto mode
In aperture priority mode
I have a similar line on my laptop screen and the computer man says it's a fault on the video card - expensive to repair, live with it, so I am!
Thank you. I will review each of those links to see if one contains a solution.
Thank you for your reply. That sounds pretty inconvenient. I can't see a thing through the dark part of the screen in low light. I'll need to have it fixed. Hope to be shooting New England lighthouses next spring. Will be shooting at sunrise and sunset.

Since it doesn't show up in photos, I'd take a wait-and-see approach. Is there a Sony forum you could try?
Thank you Jerry. I have found several Sony forums but no luck with a solution yet.

Let us know if you find a solution.
Figured out a solution. Maybe, I thought, if I can reset to Sony's factory settings, that will re-boot it. That's what I did and it solved the problem. My thanks to all who replied.
