New Nikon NEF format

Just got done shooting a couple hundred images on my brand new D750. Imagine my surprise to find out the neither LR nor PS can open the new file format (apparently applies to D810 as well). Any solution other than waiting for Adobe to catch up?

Use ViewNX (or whatever came with the camera) and convert to TIFF?

I don't have any problems with my D810 and haven't. I use LR5 and PSCC.

You need to update your ACR version in both LR and PSE

Use Capture NX-D 1.0.2 until Adobe Camera Raw/DNG Coverter 8.7 comes out. ACR 8.6 had support for the D810 but the D750 had not been released when ACR 8.6 was developed.

Is it LR and PS not catching up or are your LR and PS outdated and it's you who needs to catch up by buying new version updates?

Updating today would not help, as Adobe has not caught up.

I believe Nikon just released a new NEF Codec that has D750 support:

With Nikon getting out of the post processing software business (both programs are now free), hopefully they will start making some aspects of using raw files more available, and perhaps before the product is released.
