Hello Hedgehog Forum. I am GasMan from Northern WI. I retired in 2010, and have been Bird Watching for 25 years. I have wanted to take photographs of the birds I see for years, but I just didn't have the camera to do so. I recently purchased a Nikon D7100, and have been taking some photos of birds on some of the field trips that I attend. I am learning to use the camera, but the manual is 1/2" thick, and it is a slow process to apply all that I am trying to learn. Hopefully the more I use the camera, the more I will learn. Thank you for allowing me to participate in this forum, where I expect to learn a lot more than I currently know.
Welcome to the family! Some days I learn so much on UHH, my head hurts :)
Don't let the manual overwhelm you. You have plenty of time; please be sure to enjoy the journey.
Welcome to the forum, GasMan! It sounds like you're ready to kick off a wonderful journey of learning and rewards/frustrations! Be sure to post your results from time to time, and if you have problems here or there, many on this board stand ready to help. I hope you have a great time!

[quote=GasMan]Welcome to the HOG, Gas Man. I was born in Ashland, WI and lived in Mellen, WI. If you post a picture and click on "store original" you get a good download and the camera data is available for discussion. Ask for C & C and you will get specific advise. I did. David
