Lovely Rain We Had Yesterday

Yesterday we had a weather front stalled over our area. It started raining in the early afternoon, and rained on and off until after midnight last night. It rained so hard at times that I feared it would start coming in the house!

Anyway, here's a non-artistic shot of our rain gauge this morning. I asked my wife to hold a standard 12 inch ruler up to the side, for scale. After we dumped and measured it, we had a total of 5.75 inches of rain here yesterday and last night!

That's a lot of rain, HowardPepper, lucky you it didn't flood, Hopefully the front will break up, we have had lots of rain, but not as much as you. I would have been flooded out with 5.75 inches, in such a short period

WOW!! I have a rain gauge exactly like yours and with our last rain we received .60. I would love to get half of the amount of rain that you did!

The really scary part of this is, there are other places in our town that recorded almost twice as much rainfall as we did, and they did have flooding.

Wow, that's a lot of rain, Howard! My friend who live in Flaggler County in FL said there's been a lot of rain and flooding...sent a picture of kids in a canoe going down the street!

Yep, that's where we live. We live east of I-95, between it and the Intracoastal. Some of the folks in western Flagler County got all of that heavy rain.

Just think what 40 days and night of rain did... thank goodness for Noah...

Times are changing... weather is slowly becoming more severe... maybe there is something to Global Warming"... I hope this doesn't start an argument...

Howard, I am glad that you didn't get flooded... I feel for those that did get flooded...
