I don't know how they figure this into their budget, but they wanted something to make their customers happy and keep them coming back.

The poor guy is dyslexic - which in Chinese must REALLY be a problem! He looked at the recipe and when it said "flour" he thought it said "flower", and just assumed it meant opium poppies!

You notice that the veterans no longer offer real poppies. There must be an opium connection there, or the price is just too high. Afterall, poppies are a major cash crop.

When I was a kid, I'd stand out in front of the bank in our town (that was when we only had one bank) and sell poppies for the legion. They were a minor cash crop! :D

When I bought one this year, I still had the poppy from last year in the car.

I love the real flower, do you grow them? They're sometimes difficult to get started unless you know someone who's breaking up their poppy patch.

I'd be concerned about the police finding them. :D

It is surprising that poppies are still perfectly legal. I suspect that anyone half-way clever could make their own opium. Probably a large poppy patch would draw attention though - maybe have to hide the poppies in the marijuana patch! They can be hard to get started, but they are pretty!

Aren't they all eligible to be converted to drugs?

No Jerry, I don't know, if they were, wouldn't the birds get high? We let the flowers die on the plant and the seeds dry out and the birds eat them. These birds are a little squirrley but they aren't high. :D

There's a lot of processing involved, and I think they use what's left over after the flowers die.
