There is a firmware update available for download on the Sony esupport website for the DSCRX-100M3.

NEW FIRMWARE VERSION: 1.1
Check your firmware version to see if you need this update.
This update supposedly corrects the turn-on issue experienced by some owners. Print complete instructions before attempting to update your camera. This update is permanent and can not be removed.
There are also some other updates for WIFI and drivers so read the listing carefully.
I also checked the site for any updates for the mysterious self turn-on issue experienced by some M1 version owners which drains the battery, but there seems to be no firmware or WIFI update to correct this yet.
Anybody having this problem? Seems anytime I leave a battery in my m3 with it shut off and either in or out of a soft case I come back to a dead battery within 24 hours. Has anybody tried this firmware update yet? Results?

I've never experience the battery drain issue. I did update the firmware though, just to be up to date. Not sure what this update really addressed though since I've had no issues as yet.
I was under the impression that the battery drain issue was only on the M1 version. What settings do you normally leave you camera in when turned off so I can try to see if it drains my battery when it's off.
