probably the premier building in Bannack was the Meade Hotel. Originally the courthouse - this was the first territorial capitol of Montana, back in the gold rush days.

Bannack was the first territorial capitol of Montana, back in the gold rush days, it held on as a town until 1950 ? I just walked these streets, it is a beautiful "ghost" town, now a state park. preserved but not a touristy trap....
