Finished vs. Complete

I have yet to find an American dictionary that can explain a difference between the words "complete" and "finished."
I think I got it though.
If a man marries the right woman, he is complete.
If he marries the wrong woman, he is finished.
And further, if the wrong one catches him with the right one, he is completely finished !!!
