How do I check for the number of shutter actuations on a Canon 7D?
Welcome to the Hog, PhotobobII. You'll find lots of friends & plenty of good advice here. One of several sites that will give you a shutter count is
http://www.camerashuttercount.com/. You upload a recent photo & it tells you the number of shutter activations.

That doesn't work on the 7D.
ShutterCount should work but I believe it is $2.99 to purchase.

It also appears to be a Canon only website.

That because all other cameras embed that info in their EXIF data and it is easily retrievable for free.
Yes EOSCount works and that is $1.79 for one count for one camera.
Here's a more direct route to it for those interested:

I keep a running log. Every time my camera turns from 9999 to 0001, I open a document, and list the shutter count and date. Currently I am over 36,000 actuations. Gary
