I had an article on how to transfer a laser photo (has to be laser..won't work with color) on to a piece of wood. Naturally, being half asleep, I deleted it by mistake. Anyone ever hear of doing this? Article, web site, anything? Thx much

what is a laser photo?
Just a photo printed from a laser printer
Thanks for the links. Kinda wanted to do this myself rather than order one. I did order a photo printed on a sheet of some sort of metal. It's beautiful, and was cheap.

I did see that!
Hmm...
I have no idea where.
I thought it was an instructable - when I get to my computer I'll see if I can find it.
Since I still have my big laser from the office :-)

That's AWESOME! I have a neighbor that does a lot of wood working, I will have to try this with a picture to give to him for his Wood Shop.
Thanks for the link.
What a great resource. Thanks for sharing. I'll try this as soon as possible. Simple and I can imagine with great results !!!

texasdan78070,
To get on the same track, LASER Printers come in two popular flavors. Black to white, and full color.
The most likely reason the LASER Printer was selected in the article you read is because of the method of ink transfer from printer to paper. LASER printers use a fine black (colored) powder to spray onto the paper, at the moment of spray the powder is heated to a temperature that causes the powder to melt into a liquid flow.
Ink Jet printers also heat the liquid ink, this us usually needed for instant drying.
Once you print the image onto a substrata (paper, plastic, cloth) you can use heat to transfer the printed image again (once). A common household iron has been used.
In your initial print you may have to invert the image; as in a mirror, or rubber stamp.

Thanks for the link and advise. I only said laser prints because that's what the article called for and I got rid of my inkjet and got a B & W laser printer. I already have the wood ready as I picked it out when I had the article. Appreciate all of your responses. Many thanks.

Thank you very much. Not the article I seen before, but it sure will work. Appreciate you.
