Tamron 24-70 2.8 vs nikon 24-70 2.8

I just ordered the D750 due to a serious GAS attack, can't wait. When looking and trying out the two lenses on a 610 I thought the focusing time seemed a little slower on the Tamron which might drive me nuts. The 600.00 savings however is significant. Can you experts out there tell me what is the best choice, or the pros and cons.

I do have the Tamron lens and love it! DxO tested the lens and it appears that the Tamron comes out on top.

While the Tamron does come out ahead, it is basically a tie. I think other factors should decide it: cost, build quality, and AF performance. The OP has to weight these.

Tamron is a hell of a lot cheaper! (about 500)
Nikon is lighter.

When all factors come out equal Price IS always the decider.

Thanks for all your replies, I'll just have to flip a coin. the only perceivable difference was autofocus in live view. It seemed slower on the Tamron but I only tested in the store with indoor lighting.

How about getting a 50mm 1.4 and a 28-300mm. I BET YOU WOULD LOVE THAT PAIR

I don't have either lens, but there are loads of comparisons available.

I have the Tamron and love it. For me, it came down to the $$$$. I could not afford the Nikon (ever), but I could afford the Tamron. I've only had good experiences with my Tamron lenses.

Thanks Jerry, after reading all the tests and commentaries I think I'll get the Nikon.

I do own both. The Tamron with VC would seem a better choice, but I only used the VC once to try it and have had no desire to use it again. The Nikon does AF faster on my D800E and D810 bodies, but only by a little bit when shooting action shots. My complaint about the Tamron is its terrible CA, sure its correctible in PP, but why bother. My Nikon 24-70mm F2.8G is totally devoid of any CA at all.
As for sharpness, I have to rate them equal.

The sharpness rating is very close, but look at the chromatic aberration. That is what keeps me away.
