Yep Me~

It's ok, don't worry. I wasn't working for the nicest people in the world, actually that would be an understatement, they were rude and mean but for 6 months I bit my tongue and worked my a$$ off. The breaking point was on Friday.

Friday my husband was coming home after being gone for 6 weeks. He had made sure that his flight got in at 5:45 so I could leave work and pick him up without having to try to get time off (he knows how hard that would have been). So at 5:05 I'm clearing off my desk for the weekend and to run to the airport when my boss comes up to me and tells me that "We" are working late. This is after him hearing me talk about picking up Curt at 5:45 from the airport all day. I told him that I was sorry but I wasn't able to stay late that I had to pick up my husband at the airport. He started to yell and call me names, once again I bit my tongue but I wasn't staying so I told him that a pi$$ed off husband was worse than a pi$$ed off boss and I was leaving. I grabbed my purse and left.

I really thought that I would get a text or phone call telling me not to come in on Monday, all weekend nothing. So I went into work on Monday. He refused to talk to me all morning. Just before lunch he came up to me with a red face and told me that I had to realize that work needed to come first and I better figure that out and start being a "team player" and if I couldn't do that maybe I shouldn't be there. So I left for lunch and called my husband to tell him what I was told. My husband told me to walk back in there and tell him to take his job and kiss my arse. So I walked back in, wrote my resignation letter effective immediately, placed it on his desk along with my office key and grabbed my purse.

He actually ran out in the parking lot, yelling at me telling me I was selfish, an idiot and I was putting him in a hard spot. Ya... that made me want to stay.....

Today, has been the least stressful day I have had in the last 6 months, I did not cry this morning, did not feel sick to my stomach and have a smile on my face.

Congratulations! Screw that a$$hole. No one deserves to be treated like that. He sounds like one self-centered piece of work.
Good Luck in finding something else soon.

MWAC, Nothing is worth the stress that puts on your body. Your time now with your family is irreplaceable. Find a job working with people who respect you and value family. Good Luck.

And people ask whats wrong with America today that we cannot keep our jobs from going overseas? This is one example, ignorant bosses/managers who hold no appreciation for their employees. Too bad it ends up hurting the little guy the worst.
I actually did the SAME thing with my government job in 2005 over the Katrina fiasco, got me on the front page of USA Today too! LOL

I agree with everyone else here. Good for you. If you are this relieved to have quit this job it is better for your health. Having a job like you just described has been known to kill people. It isn't good for your body to have that much stress. So to many happier days to come... Cheers!

Haven't felt this good in years.

Hope ypu find something soon, if yu need to but in the meantime hang in there and enjoy the time off.

You might need to replace your avitar with someone reclining on a hammock!

Really sorry to hear that MWAC. I'm thinking about you and hoping something better turns up very soon. As others have said no one deserves to be treated like that.

Any manager that loses his temper and yells and call you names should not be in charge of anything. Can you write a letter to his superiors and get him in trouble? It would serve him right!!

So sorry to hear about everything you have been through. Be positive. Think of the job you want and it will be there, because you deserve it and have earned it.

Good for you. Been there done that and it brought me to where I am today. Not insanely rich, but better off and my own boss. I'll put in good thoughts for you getting what you want. Keep this guy on your back burner so you hear about the bad karma that is coming his way in a semi.

His supervisor is his father, family owned business. His father was no better, it was just better to cut my ties and walk away with my head held high.

Oh the stories I could tell about this place. (The father likes to whistle at another employee when he needs them to come to his office, like he is calling a dog).
