I visited a private garden this morning - Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens. I had a couple of hours before I needed to go to work so I tried something different - waiting. After watching the critters move around, I picked one spot and stayed there about 10-15 minutes. I had the most keeper of any session so far! I think it was the cooler morning (62*), my lower heart rate from sitting still, and the moths/flies being more comfortable with me in the area.

Your spider appears to be an immature crab, possibly a Whitebanded Crab Spider (Misumenoides formosipes).
