Aperture Assembly bad

Finally sent my Tamron lens into Tamron due to live view not working properly. Most times it wouldn't focus and nothing would happen when pressing the shutter release.

Got an email today that they will repair or replace the aperture assembly. Can anyone tell me, in not too technical terms :D , what that means?

Still under warranty, no charge.

Thanks,

There are going to fix or replace the blades that control what f/stop you use, how big a hole you look thur.

But wouldn't that also affect when shooting through the view finder? I have no problem when using the view finder.

No.
The lens stops down to the correct aperture when the picture is taken. You look thru the lens at its max. aperture. That's why people have telephone poles coming out of their heads, sometimes. It was not visible thru the viewfinder at the narrow DOF you see in the viewfinder.

Excellent. Thank you. I'll let you know if the problem is fixed when the lens gets back!
