Something that perhaps has a viewfinder but not nesessary. Needed to shoot items to sell. Do not need a high zoom. Not picky about brand. I had an olympus but it was slow between shots, I lost it in the lake while leaning over the boat to get an action shot Price range around 150.00 or less I am trying to read reviews but having difficulty making decision.

I went to the Canon website and got a Powershot A1400 refurb for under $100. It features a viewfinder but as it is mirrorless focusing thru it is absent. It provides 16 megapixels and 5x optical zoom. There is an earlier A1300 refurb that is of less cost. My brother-in-law has it and we unprofessionals can't tell the difference.

Thank you. Actually I am having trouble seeing through
View finders because of beginning cataracts so do not need one. Price sounds good.

Canon Direct has this very nice refurb Powershot SX160 IS for $136 with free shipping. Can't go wrong.

One plus about this camera is that it takes regular AA batteries so if they go out in the middle of shooting you can just pop in a new set and don't have to wait for a battery to recharge.
You have to like a red camera though. :)

Red is fine. Does it do well in low light and is it good with shooting action? Thanks. I am taking all suggestions.

It does about as well in low light and for action as any $150 point & shoot.
The image quality will not rival a DSLR but it's not $3,000 either.

GrandmaJoy, you may want to avoid shiny bright colored cameras for close up product shooting as it may reflect it's color cast. I would stick with cameras that are black in color, just a though :)

But than again, it's not like you are shooting it for a magazine right? :)

Thanks for your help. Still looking. I do not need a high zoom. I want something that does close up shots of jewelry.
