Have been thinking of getting a CIS for my Epson 2880. I read a post somewhere here of someone using "Cone" inks for their CIS.
I'm asking for any information, suggestions, etc. on this matter. Such as... Do the colors come out true? Whats the "Hassle Index" of using a CIS? etc.
Thank you.

I've been using CIS for about six month now, the ink system (hoses) do give me a problem from time to time getting caught in the carriage return. As far as the colors go, I have a Cannon, and an HP one the CIS (2) and haven't noticed any fade problems. Have had several photos sitting on a window sill for in the sun for a few hours each day. The cost is now on the paper, which cost more then the ink instead of the other way around.

I also recommend Cobra Inks, excellent service and pricing. I chose to purchase their re-fillable ink cartridge system for my Epson 1400. I see no difference in color with the new inks.
I have used CIS systems on 2 Epsons for 5 Years. First one died of mechanical failure. No problem with fade. UV stabilizers are in the ink; see the specifications:
http://www.earthinkjet.com/bulk-magenta-ink.htmlPluggage does occur when not used! Yep, my fault. I remove the carts and allow the tips to soak with alcohol over night sitting on paper towel all enclosed in plastic bag to prevent drying of alcohol.
Tubing placement on my 825 is a trick thing since it has 5 carts in a cluster. But I finally got it figured out. I find putting a single twist in the tubing makes it ride differently (better).
You will find many people against CIS, and demand OEM inks, but these people still have other compulsions to contend with! I have saved over $2000 for the 5 years.
Once you get set up and running fine, then you will be a CIS evangelist.

They are using different tubing now that helps stop plugging.
I haven't had any problem with plugging using pigment inks.
