Greetings All! Advise me, please, as to which Canon mirrorless pocket size camera is the best for sharp pictures. Thanks much - the Hog is great - I consult it every day! Doug (Canon Fan)
Although Canon (and Nikon) make a mirrorless camera, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. They are years behind the leaders in mirrorless camera technology. Olympus, Panasonic, Fuji, and Sony lead the way.
The new panasonic GM2 (not released yet) sounds like it's going to be a tiny wonder. And the most pocketable outside of the GM1 and Olympus epm2.

Good luck finding one as Canon does not import their "M" series (mirrorless ILC) cameras to the USA anymore. But they can be bought from grey market sellers.
All their regular pocket cameras are mirrorless units though.

Of coarse...all non-reflex cameras are mirror-less.
If you're looking for a small point and shoot canon, then I can recommend the Canon s110. Just make sure you buy extra batteries for it.

There's mirrorless and there's mirrorless. If you must have a Canon, their best "pocketable" camera is a G1X Mkii. It is a very good camera, by several different measures. It doesn't have an interchangeable lens, like the ones CDouthitt mentioned, but it's damn good for what it is. It's also very well built. It fits into a jacket pocket, but not a pants pocket, especially if you wear biking pants as tight as SharpShooter's! :-D
Thanks much, everybody! Your quick replies are greatly appreciated. Doug

I didn't realize you two were so well acquainted.
Jerry, I had biking tight Lycra pants with padded chammy rump. Well, Jerry things were going well, very well indeed, until one morning when I was making coffee she ventured into the extra bathroom and my butt padded pants were hanging there on a drying hanger... she asked and evidently was so disturbed that she never dated me again, let alone stay over night!! Hay, I offered to model them for her!! Jerry, did I do something wrong?

If you really mean one you can carry comfortably in a shirt pocket, the S100/ S110/ S120 series is very good. You can set it to "Auto" and jpeg, snap away and get good results. You can also set it to your choice of PASM, select RAW, engage in some post processing and get better results. You can even make HDR brackets!
Only two short commings - no viewfinder except LCD screen and small sensor. But the very few competitors that address these shortcomings are heavier and bulkier and not quote as comfortable stuffed in your shirt pocket.
I had been thinking of a Canon EOS M camera, with a EF lens adapter. After reading many reviews of this particular camera I gave up the idea. Seems the "M" does not focus very fast, even with the lenses made for the "M" mount. Within a year of the "M" introduction, there was a firmware update to increase the focus speed. This update did not fulfill the target of slow focus. Canon also came out with a second generation of the "M" called the "M2". This model was only marketed in Asia, and possibly Europe. The "M" line has all but been abandoned by Canon in the U.S. Canon still announces lenses, but their sale of the "M" has been in the dumps. The "M" cameras can be found on Amazon, Ebay, and other sites for only $250.00 and with a 22mm lens. I've stopped researching, but did find a few companies who make a adapter for the Oly, Fuji, Panasonic, and Sony. For an adapter, try Metabones. Good Luck.
