Thanks for looking. And the situation I was combating/dealing with was the fact that there was an intermittent breeze blowing. Sometimes stronger, sometimes weaker, and then it would die out altogether, for a short period. Plus, I was trying to isolate the subject. Next time however, I will play around with my F-stop. I was shooting with my Canon 70-200mm f2.8 IS (the first generation of this lens).

Gorgeous color, light, composition, and in many I really love the out of focus backgrounds.
The main problem I see is most are not in focus, or have extremely shallow focus range. I downloaded a couple and you are using very small aperture, but very fast shutter speed. For example, the tangerine colored dahlia says f/5, but 1/8000 sec. "To bee or not" is f/4, 1/2500 sec. Can you discuss these choices?
