I have found some who do not know about the Senior National Park Pass. A great perk if you enjoy National Parks, $10 one time payment for the Senior Park Pass. You will also get 50% discount on camping in National Parks. For NPS, 62, is OLD. Some places say 65.

I got mine in 2011. Have used it for 3 years now and soon to be 4. I used to keep track of how much it was saving me but got sidetracked. I know it has to be over $300.

Just received mine. We would normally purchase the $80 pass because we are in the National Parks so much. In Yosemite 15 to 25 times most years. Kings Canyon/Sequoia 4 to 5 plus others when we travel.

You can either pay an additional $10 and get your pass mailed TO you - OR as mentioned at the web site - just get one for $10 the first time you enter an NPS park.

As verified on the website - you and up to 3 other adults (of any age) may be granted admission {in a single car} based on the one Senior Pass. This is good - as I am a bit older than my bride, and will qualify for this in a few months - - would hate to have to leave her outside the gate

Thanks for covering this. I didn't know about this. Haven't been in a National Park for awhile, but planning to next summer/fall. . . a lot. Will absolutely take advantage of it.

My son gave me one for a gift and what a great gift is has turned out to be. We have enjoyed using it numerous times and look forward to many more experiences.

As a 100% disabled service connected Vet I got the national park pass for free, many years ago.
I may not be able to trek through out Yellowstone or walk to the bottom of the grand canyon, but I get a pass so I can drive the rim of the grand canyon. While you ride the bus or walk.
My wife and I take care of another disabled vet. He is wheel chair bound and likes to see our national parks. Bet we have saved over $500.00.
So if you are an old fart like me get that pass it is great

Not quite true. From their website.

"To qualify for the Pass the disability must be permanent and limit one or more major life activities."

In order to be rated disabled from the VA you don't have a temporary disability, it is permanent. Also any disability can be considered limiting to a major life activity. PTSD, limits your ability to deal with just about anything, crowds, people, jobs, etc. Amputation of a limb, ability to walk, jump, crawl, etc.

You might be right, I'll have to check into it. I interpreted it different but never tried. I don't know if diabetes, neuropathy, tinnitus, and hearing loss would be considered limiting to a major life activity. I can see where amputation would be.

I just looked down further at the same site I quoted and it does appear that you are right. I have two of the documents they say are acceptable. I don't think those examples were in that website when I first checked into it.

Thanks for the heads-up.
