I liked the look of it as a "Retro" camera, but don't care for the smaller sensors that much and wasn't impressed with the available lens selection for it, so I went with the Df from Nikon with the full frame sensor. Its fun to have people think you are shooting film with them.

I think I have looked at every review out there. I want to hear from folks who put down the bucks for one.

Make sure you compare it and the lenses with the em1 and compatible lenses

Comparing is always good.
Whatever feedback one gets from other users, there is no substitution to trying out a camera for yourself. We all know from the members on this site how personal camera use is. If, at all possible it would be a good idea to rent a camera that you are considering and playing with it for a few days. The small rental investment could be beneficial in choosing the right camera.

it seems like this page is for nikon and canon fan boys. when xpro1 came out i changed to the pro 1. i have owned and still do xe1,xe2,x100s, and t1.the fuji lenses are all outstanding including the kit lens 18-55mm. the camera is much lighter and you can focus on action if you want. today we were at a bazaar in khaki region of the little country of Georgia and i was filming Azerbaijani cowboys on horses with no problem. the jpegs are outstanding. for raw photos i import into capture one pro 7 as that format gets the best result for the color and then the sharpness. after that if you want to do additional detail work - lightroom 5 via a tiff file. read zack arias blog - he is no nonsense and down to earth about fuji. hope this helps. i will never return to larger cameras. there just is no need with these fantastic fuji lenses and cameras. also fuji continues to make firmware updates that are customer oriented - no one else is doing that. they listen to their customers and act upon the comments. here is my flickr file: https://www.flickr.com/photos/94736492@N04/

I've owned one and it was a great camera no question.

Fuji's current thrust is on "retro" styling and form factor, if you don't like dials, then they won't be for you.

My ONLY problem with the X-T1 was that the viewfinder was in the middle (like the old SLR's) and it smashed my nose on the LCD, which I hate.

I went with a Fuji X-E2 and am very happy as the VF is on the left upper corner ala rangefinder...no nose smashing :)

The lens selection is very good, I'm never sure why people say it's not. Their lenses are stellar and I mean STELLAR across the board...and I'm comparing them to all of the awesome Canon L lenses that I've owned...and I've owned a LOT of high end Canon L lenses.

One big consideration when shooting the Fuji line up is the EVF and the AF.

If you are looking for an EVF to be as good/responsive as your optical view finder on the DSLR, you will see a difference and you may not be satisfied. Be aware.

Certainly it's good; the best EVF in my opinion, but it's "different" than a DSLR.

Also, the Fuji's use a different AF technology than a DSLR and still lag in the "fast AF" department, sure not by much...milliseconds, but still be aware.
It's not an issue for me, but some hate it.

For myself, I'll never go back to a big clunky DSLR that I have to use a backpack to haul...no way.

What are you shooting now?

Buy it.

Beware taking advice from shooters who only know sensor size, weight, and don't fully understand corporate stability. Nikon is in a downturn with boring industrial design and pitiful marketing plan; whereas, Fuji is very proactive with a viable model plan who will be around for decades.

Sensors, filters, software is very complex and one must have some serious knowledge about this stuff, which is why collateral materials are so lame. Like selling a car based upon the stereo because buyers don't take the time to learn about transmissions, fuel-injectors, and suspension.

You can rest assured that Fuji digital design is solid as anything from Nikon or Canon. Nikon is like a nice Chevy Camaro that does what it needs to do with enough style and performance for most people. But, Fuji is more like a Porche. So, if you want to step away from the pack, buy the new Fuji and be ahead of the trends.

Consumer electronics is fluid. Brands come and go. Just ask Philips and RCA. Nikon is resting on its old reputation--Fuji has the energy and confidence to manufacture superb quality. Don't be influenced by people who only know sensor size and weight. They are amateurs.

PS: The sensor size debate is a yawner.

I've heard all of the reasons why APS-C sucks as opposed to FF and I've owned a few FF EXPENSIVE cameras...and guess what?

It's just talk...hot air.

You can take great images from an APS-C camera and print them to HUGE sizes and the quality will be there.

I know that this will raise the ire of many here but frankly...it doesn't matter to me. Results are what matter...not measurbation on gear forums.

I recently bought the XT-1 with the 18-55mm lens. I am very pleased with the camera. Vey good image quality, light weight, I like to dials and controls as they are placed. the learning curve is short and the manual is very helpful.
