This was taken at the Self-Realization Fellowship garden in Encinitas CA last Saturday. I have been experimenting with luminosity masks. I first did the HDR in Photomatix Pro after some preliminary work in LR5 then I went to PS6 and used the Luminosity mask action provided free from Greg Benz Photography. This sure makes this process easy.

Did you try to bring out detail in the dark areas?

As you can tell this is backlit and I shot for the transparency of the petals, I brought out as much detail in the dark areas as I felt represented what I saw and what looked natural. I could have gone much farther with the luminosity masks but it didn't look right.
