while waiting for the tamron 150-600mm.
while thinking about the tamron 150-600mm zoom, i decided to see what i could do withwhat i have. i hate long waits. i am shooting with a sony a-850 most days. i picked up a minolta maxxum 70-200mm f 2.8 G lens and their 2x tc when the prices were lower. on my a- 850 i can switch between full frame and aps-c, so i get auto focus, good image quality, and in aps-c mode the equivelence of 200-600mm. i think i'll leave one more tamron on the market for someone else. SO what have some of you tried while you were waiting?????

While waiting for a quality 2-ring super-zoom with constant aperture and focus throughout the zoom range, I'm still using my 400 and 560 Telyt lenses.

I couldn't wait had a trip to Alaska, so I bought the Sigma 150-500, and added a 1.4 TC giving me a 700mm effective focal length. Very glad I did too, got some great shots of whales I could not have gotten without it.
Sigma 120-300 2.8, 1.4 tc on an apc d7100. Pushing 700mm or can have a great 2.8 lens at 300.
WHEN IS THE 150-600 TAMRON LENS COMING OUT FOR THE CANON. I thought they were out but now hear only a few came out and then no more.

Pierre,
I am with you. Purchased a used Sigma 150-500mm from MT Shooter and I am very happy with it. Not going to play the manufactures games.
