Left or Right?

Got no farther than the garden centre over the weekend.
I was taken with the flowers on display where the blue and yellow complementary, (almost) colours were. I cropped to offset the 'odd' colour right of centre and left of centre.

The trees caught my eye where I saw the paving as a miniature avenue. I was also surprised to note the autumn colours appearing so soon. Similar treatment to above.

4 in total.

Flowers, don't care, I like them both :-)
The avenue I think would look best completely symmetrical.

Just my $.02, which now worth, umm not much :-)

As far as the flowers go, we read left to right so when possible I always put the point of interest to the left. That pulls your eye and then you move to the right naturally.

As for the path, it pulls slightly to the right, so I would put it on the left. That way it will lead your eye into the picture. If you put it on the right it leads your eye off the picture.

I like both flower shots and the first "avenue." The first "avenue" shot has better lighting and contrasts than the second, and doesn't have the green structure as a distraction. I like the asymmetrical composition in that one as well. Very nice series.

Thanks for taking the time to comment. People have pretty definite views I think. Must be a difference between dexter and sinister! In the past I have flipped some of my images left to right and for myself, found big differences.

Left on both, but definitely in the flower shot - nice color and composition.
