Another beautiful spot on the "bold coast" of Maine which has been preserved by the Maine Coast Heritage Trust is the Western Head adjacent to Cutler Harbor. It is a spectacular trail which takes a few hours and affords one a wonderful spot for a picnic. Even on a sunny Sunday there were only a few others hiking there.

Maine is so diversely beautiful -- spent quite a few summers with my Grandmother, she lived in a house next to the Pemaquid Point lighthouse. Later on in life I flew out of Loring AFB in Limestone, a stark contrast to the coast but beautiful as well with lots of wildlife and fishing. I'd love to make a trip back there. Great shots -- really like the rocky beach shots.

Wonderful shots of a state I love. I've made a note of this area for my next trip there. What was your pp program? Strong but nice.

Thanks for your comments. Pemaquid is beautiful - and although Loring was always called "boring Loring", those who were stationed there always seemed to love it.

I pulled the RAW photos into Photomatix and just tweaked them a little - to get them to look close to what I remembered from my walk...
