Dam spray?

I pass by this dam on I-40 at least a few times a week (east of Nashville) and finally took a few minutes to exit and wind around to get both sides below the dam.

I'm probably 200 yards away (at least) for these shots. I don't know how big that nozzle is or why they spray like this but, it's pretty cool. They open lot bigger flow gated when they are lowering the water or generating.
All with Canon 70-200

Beautiful dramatic photos, thanks.

Here in California, to lower the water levels all we have to do is wait. Raising the water levels is our main problem.

Thanks for looking David. That is a enormously powerful stream of water coming out.

NO doubt, it's something the EPA says they have, to have.

Here in Fort Myers, FL area, our ocean is being ruined by the Corps of Engineers dumping water out of Lake Okeechobee (SP). Brown water at beaches.
