Extraction Practice - New background needed

Flowers for our anniversary. Unfortunately I do not have a good setup to capture them with a good background. My attempt was to select the background and turn it black. Feel free to perform any artistic effects you desire

You're welcome. Black is not bad, but the textured gradient just adds a bit more.

Pretty good job. But selections where the background is complex are always difficult. Since your image is a set-up you'd have done much better hanging a piece of black cloth behind the subject and doing it right the first time.

I think I see a fence you could have thrown the background over. Or just have someone help by holding it up for you.
