This little guy landed on a fountain in the back yard and let me walk up to him within a couple feet. I think he is a Great Horn Owl, but I have never seen a baby up close so not sure.

Just the cutest little guy/gal ever! And looks like it's cooling its feet in the fountain. How lucky you were to have this visitor, Bee :)

It appears to be a Long Eared Owl, instead of a Great Horned Owl. Regardless, a nice capture.

I just found this info online. Whoooo knew? :)

"In eastern Washington, Long-eared Owls are fairly common year round. In winter, they are believed to be most common in the wheat country of southeastern Washington, with roosts of up to 50 birds in Walla Walla County. There is a large winter roost in the Moxee Valley (Yakima County)."

Thanks, appreciate everyone trying to figure out who he is. We have had a few great horns around, but didn't know there was any owl nests close.
