Interesting idea. When you're not using the hot shoe for a flash light.
However, for about $7 I got myself an anti-static cloth that will also take off dust and finger prints and smudges and doesn't interfere with my use of the flash light.

I simply keep a microfiber cloth in a tiny pouch, placed in my camera bag (or pants pocket if I'm not using my camera bag). Does the same thing as this, but at a fraction of the cost and keeps the hot shoe free. I suppose if one is in the obsessive habit of cleaning the screen every few minutes the OnSlot makes sense.

Sounds a bit of a gimmick, what is wrong with a Microfiber cloth?

I just took a look at it. Considering the fact that I almost never use my flash and that I get concerned about my microfiber cloths picking up grit....I've gotta say it's a nifty idea. On the other hand.....once I had my camera a few months, I gave up on trying to keep the LCD spotless.
If you end up getting one, let us know what you think.

I gave up on keeping my LCD screen spotless. Between my nose and my fat fingers, it doesn't have a prayer of staying clean.

I will say that I have a HUGE gouge in my LCD protector that I have no idea how it got there, and I'm really careful with my equipment (because I'm too cheap to replace anything) I'm not VERY thankful for that stupid plastic thingy over my LCD screen, even if it does take up a bit of real estate in the nose area.

From the product description: "The OnSlot has a fine Microfiber Cleaning Pad which removes smudges, dust, oil and grease from LCD Screens for superior cleaning results.
For ease of use, the cleaning pad is easily replaceable. "

Overpriced unnecessary gadget. Get a screen protector for a couple of bucks and if it's too dirty, use a little alcohol or lens cleaner.

I use an optical soft cleaning cloth for glasses. Very thin, easy to store, and they're dirt cheap at the WalMart glasses department or anywhere else.
