Caught I hope in time

Three weeks ago I went in for a mammogram and tomorrow I have surgery. I only went in for the mammogram because several friends have recently had positive results and I just thought well its been three years so I might as well get it done. I would never have felt the lump as it was very deep. It is invasive so I will have a lumpectomy and hope they get it all along with lymph node biopsyThis will be followed with 6 weeks, 5 days a week radiation..(I will be glowing by the time I'm through). So all you gals go get it done. You guys go and get your prostate checked, don't be wimps. I have lots of horseback riding to do and a whole lot of pictures to take.

You bet, you will be in our prayers also. But don't think that women have exclusive rights on breast cancer; my brother had it and went through the whole routine. He's fine now, not horseback riding, (no horses :D ) but enjoying his grand kids,

You are so right Tramsey and if he is your blood brother you need to go get yourself checked to see if you have that gene..it is family related.

Thanks Thistle..its people like your wife that keep telling people to get it done..I hope to be a long time surviver also and spreading the word. Since I was diagnosed there have been 9 of my friends going in and 2 of those showed positive. If I save one life I will forever be grateful.

Donna please go in soon. I came home from the hospital after a long day and surgery and only have a few aches under my arm. More from the lymph node removal and not the lumpectomy. I have a sore throat from the tube and that just means I can't yell at anyone. Nine of my friends that decided if I was going through this they would also and two of those are having biopsies as they found spots. So if I save one more life it was all worth it.

I have an appointment with my primary in a couple weeks and then to a mammogram/sonagram (sp). I'm glad you are doing well. Be gentle with yourself when using your arm, I hope you'll check in while you're recuperating, Mrs. Moses. Thank you very much for your concern, I truly appreciate it.
