I think I am about past the innate fear I possess of bees, a few of these shots I had to steady the flower the bee was on, because of wind, to even get a respectable shot.
you made me laugh -- there really is something about a camera and the desire to GET that shot that makes you fearless.
Two of my favourite things, bees and sunflowers. The first is beautiful on download with good detail and composition. I would be proud to put that on my wall - my bee shots aren't good enough yet.
Thanks for looking guys and the friendly comments. I am always looking for critique. And I assure you, there is little chance you can be as harsh as I am on myself.
Brenda, funny thing is I had the first image cropped much tighter but the wife thought it looked better with her just emerging from the backside of the flower.
These flowers look very much like sunflowers but I am much more used to seeing them much larger. The biggest I have seen here are roughly the size of your palm, at the largest. Back in Michigan, in our garden, we they easily grow to the size of a dinner platter.
Maybe they are different species or the earth here is tainted, I know this area has some of the worst water I have ever seen. They seem to be the only wild flower that thrives out here, sadly.
