I'm taking my family to Orlando later this month and I'm looking for the cheapest tickets to DisneyWorld-does anyone have suggestions where I could find some. We're also planning on going to Islands of Adventure (Universal Studios) and the Space Center. I also want to book an airboat excursion, does anyone know of a good outfit for that? I'd love to go down to the Everglades but I don't think we'll have the time so it would have to be a local place (Lake Toho?). Thanks for any information you can give me.

Residents get all the breaks on tickets,(I believe that residents also have to show ID), so unless you are VERY luck and step into a pile of ****. Suggest you bring your bank with you.

Some of those time share places will get you some pretty good ticket prices to Disney. I know it is a pain to sit through their demo things but we got 2 or 3 day park hopper passes at a discount. Of course this was a few years ago so they may not be doing that anymore.

Getting lucky can be very fun out there. The first time I went with my family we had just driven 22 hours over a couple of days and decided to go down and look at the boardwalk area thats near Universal. Well a local could probably tell we were from out of town but they offered us free tickets to go right down and get into Islands of Adventure. There was a private company party that night lasting most of the night and the people had season passes anyway and just wanted to see a movie instead. So you never know what you might step into out there. (Maybe find a local that would be willing to go with you to the gate and actually purchase all the tickets for the discounted rate.)

Just beware that if it's too good to be true it probably is. Some friends bought some deep discount tickets just to find out they were no good. When they got there they had to buy full price tickets to get in. Not a good deal.
We are going down next week, I check with my wife and let you know what she found for us. My daughter worked for Disney World so she should know. I'll let you know.

2 years ago on a trip to Orlando for a boating conference I checked with Disney Rep at a Ticket Stand about possible military discount. She sent me into an office where after asking for a military discount, I showed my retired ID and got 3 day passes for myself and wife with unlimited entry/exit at ANY park. The cost was $99 each for a plastic entry card for my wife and I.

I worked at Disney for 32 years, you will love it...There are no cheap side steps for tickets, but you get your money's worth. I honestly can say you get much more than you pay for.. Example one show may cost you hundreds elsewhere. Disney gives you thousands of dollars in great entertainment for a low price.....Tip try to avoid weekends, Wednesday is much less crowded.

As far as the airboat rides, In Kissimmee there used to be some on the lake. Lots of wildlife, bring your camera. Also, going towards Cocoa Florida, on 17/92, there is a nice airboat ride on the swamps......check with the hotels, they used to have flyers.

Good posts here. You might also try your local bank/credit union. They often have theme park passes with discounts.

I just saw an add from univeral about getting two day tickets for both parks for less than $60 a day. You might want to check out their website and see if they are running any other offers right now.

In fact the add is now popping up in this thread. You might check that out for the Universal passes you want.

We went to Disney last month...used AAA for everything. They did a great job and we did not have to worry about a thing. If you have AAA I recommend using it.

We are going to Orlando next week. Did a lot of research, and tickets are not inexpensive, so be prepared. Also, instead of spending all our time at the tourist things, we are going to do some photographing at the Merritt Island Wildlife Center ($20.00) and take an airboat ride through the Everglades. A 90 minute ride for abut $60. I contacted the Orlando camera club and posted on Hedgehog and these two places were the ones suggested.

You take the time to go to the Everglades and Wooden's airboats. The ONLY the to see in FL and Edson house. Most stuff is FREE if you look, take the time.

We did the time share thing, it is worth it if you have the time, however, they are pushy and persuasive so be sure to make sure your credit cards, cheques and cash kept well away and BE STRONG, do not agree to anything. Some even give you free breakfast if you schedule and early visit, we got free tickets for two for wasting the time, well worth it.

Be sure to visit the Harry Potter World, absolutely fantastic, as is the ride. And that castle at dusk is a beautiful thing to photograph as well as at night.

Another fun tip, go to the water park on International Drive and right opposite it a tall yellow metal tube thing. This is indoor sky diving and it is fantastic to experience and well worth the money. Discount coupons are available from the free booklets around the shops. You can walk up there to look for free and who ever is doing it, the others with you can watch through the glass and film or video who is flying in the air. It's like nothing you've ever tried, make time to do this for sure.

There used to be a self drive airboat place in Kissimmee, they were slow but fun for one time little airboats with throttle limiters.
