This was taken with a full frame sensor with the Nikkor 200 f/4 with about 80mm of extension tubes. I do not know what type of insect it is and this is a rather poor capture of this specific little guy but was just trying to see if I could squeak any detail at all at this magnification.
I found a few of these guys in copious amounts on some small Sunflowers, near my present job site.
Thanks for Looking, Matthew

They are very tiny for sure but they can have a very aggravating bite!

Hard to believe that something less than a milimeter in size could have a bite that could even be felt. I had a them photobomb quite a few different pictures but never had the different items to take a photo past 1:1 with me at the time.
Thanks, Matthew

I know. That's what makes it aggravating. It feels like a quick sting and then goes away pretty quickly. My rose bushes were infested one year. If I opened a new bud, it would be full of these critters. They didn't bite then, it was when they would fly in little swarms that they seemed to bite. I took a rose bud to a local nursery and they told me what they were, how to get rid of them, and that they were what was biting me. I googled it to confirm. Nasty little insect!
