Greetings folks, I've watched this site for about a year (my fellow photographer friend recommended), decided to join in. I live in way northern New York along Lake Champlain. Got my first no-name 35mm about 65 years ago when I was 8. Then my father's Rolleiflex and Kodak Retina IIa. A Ricoh and Voightlander. I still have 3 Minolta SLR 35mm bodies with a variety of lenses. Been thinking about trying film again. I got into digital about 10 years ago with a Casio Exilim 2mp (cute, wish I still had it). Then a Canon Powershot A630 with flip screen; another Canon Digital Elph; and recently a Nikon D3200 DSLR, still learning that one. I guess I like my toys ;-) I use Adobe Photoshop for digital editing.
I like to shoot flowers, dogs, junk, scenics, people, whatever looks interesting. Here's a few from my neighborhood:
A road along the Saranac River where I live. Nothing spectacular, just one of my favorite roads to drive. In the far distance you can see the autumn leaves changing color.

These are Baneberris shot many years ago along the trail at Whiteface Mountain, NY. A little soft, shot on film, I still like it.

Welcome aboard from a former Saranac Laker.
Welcome to the HOG, great place to hang out
Greetings Don, and welcome to the UHH!
Nice first post photos!
Welcome and enjoy
Strong first posts, like them
Welcome Don! So many people mix up Saranac and Saranac Lake. My parents were good friends with Sam Tedford when he had is butcher shop across from where his sons have the garage next to the Post Office in Saranac. I have a place on the Goldsmith Road west off of Rt. 3 not far from Loon Lake. So many photo opportunities in the area. I think of it as incredible landscape paintings done in watercolors.

Wells, that is exactly where I live. Sam and now his sons Steve and Mike have been taking care of my cars and trucks for years, I live just two miles away on the Nashville Road. That one picture of the river is the Bowen Road, you probably recognize it. I love this area, it is very photogenic.
;-) Don't mean to bore other people with small town trivia, but it is nice to connect with somebody close to home.
Well to the Forum Don, very good posts.
