These grow in a large patch in the garden, not sure if it is a plant, herb or weed, maybe someone can tell!

They sure have a terrible smell....but I love the colour and their fern like leaves.

Quite a few plants have a bad smell, skunk cabbage being one of them. I don't know how that fits into the evolutionary cycle. I think it attracts insects that are attracted to decaying animals to lay their eggs. So I guess flies, rather than butterflies, become the pollinators.

I couldn't identify your flower, but there is a picture of it in this group of bad smelling plants..

Beautiful capture and PP Sylvias, I don't know what they are either, but from your description I'm glad the technology hasn't advanced to allow us to smell what is seen on media. Good job! :-D

Gorgeous composition, Sylvia, I love the image!

I posted a shot that included these last month and couldn't find name. So glad catfish knew. Apparently native to Europe and Asia, invasive in U.S. Lots of medicinal uses. Interesting!

Thank you Jerry for taking the time to provide the link, I appreciate it very much.

Regarding the flower being visited by flies I post another one showing just that.
