I was desperate to get some time in on the new camera. By the time I could get out, it was very hot and windy. I did manage to get a few halfway decent shots.
I didn't really "nail" any of these but, I would like some critique on composition, PP and whatever could use some improvement.
I realized after the fact, that my aperture got changed to f18 for a few of these.
Thanks ahead :)
I think they look very good. I like 2, 8 and 9. Number 4 reminds me of a sleek train engine. Is it a cicada? I never see those.
I didn't know you got a new camera. Is it the new D810? Whatever it is you are putting it to good use. Well done.
I think you have got off to a really interesting start with a new camera, especially in hot and windy weather. I like them all but the last is a stunner and one for your gallery wall.

The rest are looking good, especially your last Metallic green bee.

Thanks Dennis :) #4 is a Hopper. One of the larger type. I studied on getting a D800e but, decided to take smaller steps and then make the jump to the D810 :D

Thanks Tom
I had no chance of squaring to the Hopper. I even tried a stack that didn't work out even for two images. Since it was hot, the bees were very hyperactive then, there was the wind (not breezy but, very windy). Even on some that I could hold on to the pant stem, the wind was still having some effect. :-)
@Dennis. I forgot to say my new camera is the D7100 and I'm lovin' it.
Green Bees for me too... I use the D7100 & after shooting with it, I had to go into the menu's & change a number of the default settings as I didn't like them...They took away control over what was captured..
The last one does it for me too Bill. Beautiful bee and beautiful composition.

Curious as to what settings you changed?
I changed picture from standard to neutral, for one thing.
