Strange critters in my yard

Yesterday I shot what I thought was a tiny lady bug that I though was trying to shed it's shell. It looked odd, and raised it's rear end into the air occasionally. When I looked at it on the computer I saw that it seemed to be a black bug trying to work it's way out, or being eaten by the "ladybug" thing. Went back out today and it was in the exact same spot. A wasp stopped by and decided it was too weird for him.
Then I spotted the black bugs with what I thought was a Caterpillar, but discovered it was actually a group of eggs. Never seen any of these either. Ick!
I'm always fascinated by the patterns on bugs. Interesting how the eggs have their little logo on them. The moth had an interesting design on it's wings.

I believe the black bugs are aphids. I like the way the wasp and the bug are squared off. Nice shots. Now you need to invest in a macro lens to get really up to these interesting bugs.

The orange insect with black spots is, I think, a pupating or larva Ladybug (Lady beetle I'm told is the correct name).

Your image #1 is definitely a pupating Lady beetle.

Thanks sailorsmom. The world of bugs is always interesting, isn't it? It's amazing what new things you learn every day when you get up close and personal with them.
