While I consider your title for this thread over the top and unnecessary, from what I've been able to research on this topic, I will agree that in this case the government seems to have caused way more harm than good by forcing the banks into such a situation. If it were my business affected like this and I knew I ran an honest legit business, I would be sorely pissed off. This needs to be changed. I have not found any link anywhere tying Obama directly to this. In fact, he may very well not even be aware of what the DOJ is doing here. He cannot possibly keep up on every regulation in every department. There does need to be some changes made, but I doubt the president has time to get involved in what is relatively small potatoes. So let's for once place the blame where it really belongs and keep the president out of it.

It's a backdoor way of putting businesses out of business without passing laws to do so, which just might not get passed in a republic. Like Idaho said, whether you like the businesses or not, it's tyrannical.
Personally, payday loans do need regulation, but by the legislature.
