Nice shots all...

Here is the absolute favorite of all my sports shots and I have shot a lot, having 3 sons. This is an 11 year old in Pop Warner football taken in 1977 with a Canon FTb and a Vivitar 80-200 f3.5 lens on Kodachrome 25 asa/iso slide film. My son was on this lad's team but that's not him catching the ball. The team went on to play in the Texas State Championship that year, but alas, they lost.

I think the word "Official" is Japanese for "I stand in front of camera"

I started out shooting high school sports with my Pentax K1000 in the late 70's when I was in high school myself. Back then I used Kodak Tri-X and pushed it to ASA 1000 and processed the prints in my basement darkroom.

I got out of photography for many years because I couldn't afford to pay for processing and I didn't have anywhere to set up a darkroom for b&w. A little over a year ago I invested in a Nikon D3000 with the 18 to 55 mm kit zoom and a Tamron 70 to 300 zoom. Here are a few shots that got published in our local weekly.

The coach in the shot has a day job...he's the local county prosecutor. Can you imagine seeing him on the other side of the aisle if you were charged with a crime? LOL
