Yes, I know if the picture isn't taken properly then no amount of post processing can recover it. However, I just saw my first painted bunting on my bird bath today and my camera was within reach so I grabbed it and started shooting through my double pane patio windows. 70-200 (at 200 mm) f4 and unfortunately at ISO 100 which gave me 1/50 sec. (I did manage to reset it to ISO 400). As a result, many of the photos were not sharp due to camera (photographer) shake. Since I have a copy of Piccure which is supposed to handle camera shake, I though you would like to see the result. The first photo is the original CR2 converted to jpeg with only a little clarity added. The second photo is a significant crop with no modification and the third has been processed by Piccure, Topaz Dnoise, and CS6 high pass filter. Any thoughts?
Number 3 looks good, but the pixel peepers will blow it up, see the grain, noise, whatever you call it and down grade it.
But I like it. Hope you get a chance to try from closer without the glass in the way.

Yes, good photo and Topaz did it's work. I am forever amazed that the math .. algorithms... do such a fine job. I have all their products of course have never paid a cent for an upgrade; they are free.
I like #3 even if it is a little grainy.
Number three is absolutely stunning. For anyone mildly interested in the beautiful array of birds we have to look at, this one is spectacular! Thank goodness your camera was nearby...!

Here is one where I didn't have to use Piccure. I had kicked up the ISO to 400
All I used was the noise reduction (Median) in PS CC 2014 set on amount of 1 to get rid of the little "squigglies" that were present. I then gave it a shot of unsharp mask, and this is the result. It didn't need much because it is already a great photo.

Thank you Cajon, very nice
Did you have to turn off your virus protection to download and install the program? I tried to download the trial, but Norton 360 rules it unsafe and will not install it. I am hesitant to turn off virus protection unless I know someone has already done it with no ill effects.

I have it downloaded and running. I do not remember having to turn off Norton to download it, but then my memory is not what it used to be....it happens after you turn "21" :-) :-)

How many turns of 21 have you logged artar?

I've been "demoing" Piccure Plus this afternoon and find that in Lens+ mode it does a good job where there are significant color differences and/or contrast. In areas where shading is subtle (in particular, I have wide angle shots of fall foliage where the leaves are different gradations of yellows and greens) and the sharpening result is much worse than the original. The leaves become blobs - - - impressionistic rather than clear.
The motion+ mode helps (with camera shake), but don't expect miracles. One has to be prepared to decrease noise levels, which as one might expect reduces sharpness.
I welcome suggestions for what I might be missing, but I find my Topaz Products do a more than adequate job, albeit using entirely different algorithms. Incidentally, I have been using the Piccure Quality+ settings and experiencing the loooooooong processing waits promised.
CloudBacko pro is software for back up and recovery. Now we don't have to worry about the loss of data, because CloudBacko pro software provides full recovery of data. Its very easy to use, It provides free space for making the back up and no installation required, CloudBacko pro requires only common web browsers to run.. So try it today!!!!!
