Death Valley Sets New Temperature Record — for Coolness

Death Valley, Calif., which holds the world record for the highest temperature ever recorded, hit a high of just 89 degrees on Sunday, Aug. 3 — the coolest high temperature on record for the date since temperature records have been kept since 1911.

Climate Depot linked to an article in The Washington Post disclosing that the Death Valley temperature was 15 degrees lower than the previous record of 104 degrees set in 1945.

We set a record low one night last week coldest ever for that date in Indiana.
Daytime highs have been below normal nearly all summer.

I have never disagreed that climate change exists, it has since the beginning of time. What I disagree with is the politicizing of climate change for the purpose of political power, taxation, and more government control.
Because I disagree with those who would posture this natural occurrence in a way to profit both monetarily and politically I am labeled a "climate denier", The liberals love their labels.

LOL If this keeps up we are in for another ice age! It has been in the 80's most of the time here in NC. It is usually Hot as H-ll here. The ice sheets are growing at the poles, the temperatures are dropping. Where is Al Gore when you really need him?

It's worse than that! If the sea levels drop, we will have a land bridge from Siberia to Alaska once again! Putin will be rolling his tanks and rocket launchers to the border! Sarah Palin will REALLY be able to see Russia from home - even hike there! :D

Remember 40 years ago they were worried an ice age was coming.

You do realize that Palin didn't say that, it was Tina Fey playing Palin on Saturday Night Live.

Of course. What she did say is:"They're our next-door neighbors, and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska". And what I said was: Sarah Palin will REALLY be able to see Russia from home . (home meaning Alaska not her house). In the middle of the Bering Strait are two small, sparsely populated islands: Big Diomede, which sits in Russian territory, and Little Diomede, which is part of the United States. At their closest, these two islands are a little less than two and a half miles apart, which means that, on a clear day, you can definitely see one from the other. If the ocean level dropped significantly, one could walk from Russia to Alaska.

And before the Russians made the natives move to the mainland they used to get two days a week off by going to visit their relatives on the other island for Sunday church services.

International date line goes between the islands. From one island you can see tomorrow and from the other you can see yesterday.

I was pretty sure you knew the Fey/Palin thing, but some of the readers wouldn't, or would willfully believe it was real. I read somewhere that Palin watched Fey's antics and thought most of them were funny.

Can't wait to see them patting themselves on the back, for the lack of hurricanes this year. Obviously the carbon taxes, windmills, and electric cars are working.

I have no doubt that climate change exists. It has existed since there was a climate.
The current climate discussions seem to be quite politically oriented. There is a faction that insists that all climate change is caused by the acts of man, therefore government control, government subjugation, and total control of human live is not only required but necessary.
These same people tolerate no disagreement with their opinion, any scientist who dares to disagree with the pet scientists who are controlled by these folks is discredited, and ruined professionally. It is interesting that the climate change folks have been caught numerous times fudging study result and outright lying about results to further their cause.
This is not a scientific group, it is a politically motivated group that will do anything to further their generated results which always result in more laws, restrictions, and control
They label anyone who dares to question them "climate change deniers". It is interesting however that their cause use to be "global warming" until it became evident that the globe was indeed not warming, quick re-think, "climate change" same program different name.
You people are no more int rested in the climate than you are in upholding the constitution. You are interested in control and nothing else .
