Canon WTF Issues with Windows 8

I just spent an entire Saturday attempting to figure out what was wrong with our home network. If I connected my main computer to the network by cable to our wireless router all of our other devices were instantly disconnected.

To make a long story short Canon's latest software for their wireless DSLRs has a glitch. If you are running Windows 8 you can connect via wireless but you will lose your other networked devices. You must give up wireless connections and find the EOSUPNPSV.exe Canon UPNP Detector in the task manager and stop it. Doing so restores all connectively instantly.
