I'm strictly a hobbyist and would like to post photos to a dedicated web site. I have flickr and Smug Mug accounts but would like to take it all up a notch to a dedicated web site of my own versus one hosted by the big guys.

I'm considering using Word Press to create the site or possibly Square Space. Anyone here using either or ? If not anyone have any suggestions. I've seen some really great sites posted here by members. Suggestions are appreciated.

I set up a WordPress blog three weeks ago at russelrayphotos2.com. My next goal is a WordPress web site for photos. There are lots of great themes which are easy to work with.

My only complaint against WordPress is that all support, both witih WordPress and the many theme creators, is via forums similar to UHH. Although there are search functions, when they return tens of thousands of returns that require days to read, that's when I wish for a Microsoft-type service where you can get technical support for $99 for the first hour.

I value my time at $100 an hour, so to spend 20 or 30 hours reading through support forms trying to find an answer that eventually turns out to be rather simple, $99 would be worth it for me.

I'm thinking about becoming a WordPress/PHP/MYSQL expert and opening up a WordPress consulting company. LOL

I use Zenfolio. They give you your own web page, you send invitations to those you want to view your photos, visitors do not need to register/sign in. There are different levels of membership from $25 a year for basic to $250 a year for premium business. I am on the unlimited for $50 a year.

Another vote for Zenfolio.
Also, if you use Lightroom there is an plugin that will allow direct upload from within Lightroom.

HI Folks,
Thanks for your input Zen Folio certainly looks interesting, I'll have to check it out and try the free trial. $25 or $50 per year is reasonable, haven't ruled out Word Press yet either, but Zen Folio looks like exactly what I had in mind.

Thanks again.
