A Partial Human Body Form

Preface: This shot was taken with exceptional lighting provided in Bobby Deal's studio in Las Vegas, NV. Based on what Bobby has already mentioned in previous posts, only so much is allowed to be exposed in this forum.

I am looking for C&C as to the artistic value of this image in regards to composition, lighting, and artistic value and/or mood.

Keep in mind there is nothing here that one doesn't see on a typical beach in the heat of summer. Thank you.

Tom

Man, I thought it was the Colorado Sand Dunes.

Nice use of the light. I like shooting INTO the shadows and the texture it brings out. Nice work.

Na, Luna landscape and that little dot to the left of the crater is the lander.

Yes, nice shot and light.

I can visualize that little ball circling the B Button like a planet going int a gravity well.

About two years ago there was a suggested nude showing nothing except excellent poising. It was removed and the poster quit UHH as a result of the American Christian Taliban hounding. I was interested in the lighting, we never found out because of these fanatics. May this not happen here.

Impotent men and fat women hate the beautifully sculptured body of a young well lit for such as this one. May this one, a beautiful photo, remain.

I actually prefer body scapes that don't show the "naughty bits", so this is really nice in my opinion. I think if there were anything I would change, it would just be the arm peaking out. If the shot was taken where the arm meets the body, it would feel more connected (then again, it would have shown more than what you can show here on UHH) I would like to have seen the exact same thing, except maybe her arm raised so it was out of the frame. I wouldn't know until i saw it.

The lighting is outstanding, as is the composition. My suggestion is just what I would like to see, it may ruin the photo to remove the arm.

Long story short. I had to really think to find anything I would change, so you did a great job.

I appreciate the artistic value of this. The lighting and mood are very nice. I'm not too sure about the arm in the back ground, but it does give the torso some reference. Since I'm a big fan of nudes, I'd love to see the entire body, especially the legs. But I understand the restraint you are under posting to a public forum... keeping that in mind, I think this is a lovely, soft, feminine image.

Cliff,

Right On! I never looked at it as shooting into the shadows - you're absolutely correct as usual! Thanks Cliff.

dpullum,

Your comments are quite apropos. So far they haven't pulled this one - maybe that is a good sign. In realty, there really isn't any reason for them to delete it. As I said, nothing here that isn't seen on a sunny beach! Thank you.

Dave,

You are right - let your imagination keep flowing. Out of curiosity, did your wife see this? If so, her being an artist, what does she think about the shot?

Glad to see you back from Mexico. I was in your neck of the woods about a month ago, thought about calling you, but believe you were on your trip. Thanks Dave.

bkyser,

Thank you very much for your critique and comments. You're right, I couldn't do anything about the arm without showing too much of the image. Of course, I could remove it, but felt like it needed to be there for perspective. Much appreciated.

LLucas,

Once again your comments were enjoyed. I wish I could show another similar shot, but forum restraints forbid me from doing that.

I look at this type of shot as art as well as photography. Too bad we are limited in some respects. Thanks again.

Tom, I like the skin tones and how you used the shadows. Very nice work.

Tom, yes she saw it and she agrees that it leaves a lot to the imagination. She says that this type of a shot would seem to be more of an intimate shot rather than a full body shot for the fact you are so close (or appear to be close) when taking the shot. Skin tones and shadows is a plus.
Next time your in my area give me a call. I would enjoy a visit from you or any of the other guys.
Hope you had a nice trip visiting your son. I'm sure you got some fantastic pictures to post.
