Liam, Camera is Canon 1DX Mark 2N, Lens MP-E 65, Cicada was laying on block of wood with his head to the left (I rotated the image 90 CW). Concave Diffuser to the left (Cicada's top) and another flash on very low power to the front right (Cicada's bottom) for fill. And Styrofoam cooler lid on top for more light bounce.
Also there are 25 shots here, it is focus stacked with Zerene software. Glad you got a kick out of it.

Thank you speters and jj. You guys are kind. about the sipping sauce, seldom does sipping sauce help take a better picture. But it damn well makes them LOOK better!!!

I absolutely adore this....I'd love to have it an 8x10 or bigger on my wall. I just LOVE it!

Debbie, that was the nicest thing anyone ever said to me. And (if you are asking permission) you may download and do whatever you wish with the image. To me they are but brief moments in time that have been captured and if any happiness can come from them, that is what matters.
Having said that... I am concerned that you may be in need of counseling. You may need to attend Bugs Anonymous meetings.
