Now I see your game. Anything done ever by anybody must have been done with a Progressive viewpoint therefore by a Progressive. Of course as Liberals point out constantly Obamacare was a copy of Mitt Romney's ides of a healthcare program. So to your way of thinking he must be a Progressive. Sheesh.

Dennis

Yes. Mitt's health care program/law was a progressive move and a great accomplishment for him (even though he tried to run away from it). ...A very good Republican idea, until it became a very bad Democratic idea. Hah! BTW. I'm not trying to pin the label liberal or conservative on anyone. I'm looking for great accomplishments that can be called liberal/progressive or conservative.

I have read lately that Mitt's healthcare law only survives because the Federal government is subsidizing it. That is not my idea of a good idea no matter where it came from.

Sorry but my take still is you pin what you consider good ideas on Liberals but bad ideas on Conservatives. You are like your dad, BHO in that you keep changing the rules and goal lines.

I am done,

Dennis

Again, I stand in awe of your brilliance! Now, how about some examples of great accomplishments by conservatives. Or, if you wish, great conservative accomplishments by anyone. I'm a liberal, so I'm very flexible. ...Still waiting.

You say all of that with no thought that some Democrats fit right into the same boat: "They seem to want no part of the deliberative/collaborative process that has served our country so well in the past." It is so idiotic that Liberals/Democrats tend to think that every single Liberal/Democrat tends to think they have all the answers and do everything correctly with regard to the running of the country. On the other hand every Conservative/Republican is seen as doing everything bad for the country.

Do you honestly think that Nancy (We have to pass the bill to see what is in it) Pelosi is one great American? How about Harry (I won't even submit a Republican passed bill) Reid? How about Barack (I won't negotiate with Republicans on this) Obama? Do you see what I am getting at here? When Obama snickers and tells Democrats that Republicans are suing him for, "doing his job" without also pointing out he is also violating the Constitution of the United States, is that somebody to be proud of with the methods he uses? Might I point out Obama was not elected to directly help people. He was elected to, by his leadership abilities, bring the two houses of Congress together to pass laws that would help Americans. Obama doesn't know what the words, working together, mean.

Obama has a law degree and worked as a civil rights attorney. He also taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School for six years. As president, he has a staff of constitutional lawyers to consult with. If you really believe he would act outside of what he as President is allowed to do under the constitution, I have a great deal on some prime ocean-front property in Nevada for you. And save your remarks about working together for the so-called conservatives in congress.

Can't we be friends and talk about the subjects we have in common...there has to be more than photography, we all have lives...wouldn't that be much better? We're more than just politics/religion/guns/etc., we're people and we have all the emotions of people, we laugh, we cry, we have interests. Please, don't lets fight anymore. Let's all be the people we are.

That's probably the best suggestion I have received on this thread. I must admit, the banter appeals to my baser instincts. It has been fun, but I'm calling it quits. I'm going to check the Photography side, which was my original intent. So thanks to all who have participated in my thread. Perhaps we can be more constructive on the other side of UHH.

How about the United States of America and the US constitution. How about the interstate highway system, and the EPA which you guys are destroying, how about ending the war in VietNam and ending the draft, how about the Reagan revolution restoring pride and prosperity to the Nation, How about winning the cold war when a progressive had all but lost it? What has progressivism really accomplished for us, about the only thing that I can think of is medicare and even that is just about bankrupted, its days are numbered, Social Security? Had you invested 15% of your income into a retirement account all your working life you would have done a lot better than Social Security, so no the progressives really didn't give us anything there but it did serve to establish a large slush fund for the government....

Oh! that's right they gave us Jimmy Carter and Barack Obama... and if that is not enough there is this.....

The Interstate Highway System was not a conservative accomplishment? Well, it WAS a Republican accomplishment, having been started by Dwight D. Eisenhower. The vision of this system was the result of an Army convoy which he was part of in 1919 from Washington (I believe) to the West Coast. The convoy ran into innumerable problems along the way and several trucks overturned on muddy roads. The need for an American roadway system not only for travel but for economic purposes was readily apparent to Ike, and when he was in the position to do something about it, he did.

As far as other conservative accomplishments, although nobody likes to bring up the name of Nixon, he did open China up which has become a huge trading partner.

REAGAN? How can you overlook the accomplishments of Reagan? We fought wars in the 50's, 60's and 70's against Communist Imperialism, but Reagan ended not only that, but freed Eastern Europe and even brought democracy to the Soviet Union itself, which broke up into smaller democracies. The Berlin Wall fell and the Cold War ended. What else could you ask of a Conservative??? RR may have snoozed in his later years, but the power of his words changed the world. He was one of the greatest leaders this country has had as President!!

Reagan went toe to toe with the leaders of the Soviet Union. Can you imagine that today?

When's the last time you heard a liberal pay for lunch? (Only if the garbage truck stops moving.) :) :) :)
Heart, don't pick on atheists. We just believe in one less god than you.
