Seemingly Delicate but Oh, so Dangerous!

Whatever this plant is, it would seem to be the epitome of "Look, but don't touch". It obviously has its softer side, but will come straight to the point when necessary.

Best, I would think, to photograph and not touch. That is the nice thing about cameras. You get involved with the subject; but there is seldom any bleeding involved.

Thanks Erich. In addition, it's nice to know what you're dealing with. In my not-so-educated youth I once reached into some white flowers to arrange them for the camera .... it turns out they were nettles! Ouch! Luckily there was some jewelweed close at hand and I made an emergency poultice to put out the flames.

I'd be using my Chain Mail gloves... but they make it difficult to snap the shutter... :?

There's a lot of allegory in this one. The duality of things--a good side/an evil side, soft/prickly, light/dark, touch/don't touch. Nice.

Thanks Randy. I think the best images are the ones that lead viewers in all sorts of directions, then bring them back again for another look.
