WAPO Admits 'Immigration Is Now obama's Worst Issue'

You often hear the media lament about how the budget and staff cuts that have hit news outlets for decades primarily affect overseas news gathering. Gone first are the foreign bureaus, correct? You wouldn't know that looking at today's news coverage. The media is all over the Ukraine, Gaza, and the Ebola outbreak in Africa. Meanwhile, a real crisis right here in America at our own Southern border is all but ignored.
If you're curious as to why that is, the Washington Post's grudging admission that "immigration is now President Obama's worst issue" is the answer.
Immigration has emerged as perhaps President Obama's worst issue -- definitely for today, and maybe of his entire presidency -- when it comes to public perception.
A new poll from AP-GfK shows more than two-thirds of Americans (68 percent) disapprove of Obama's handling of the immigration issue in general. Just 31 percent approve -- down from 38 percent two months ago.
When you separate those most passionate about the issue, the difference is even more stark, with 57 percent opposed and just 18 percent in favor. That's more than three-to-one.
It wasn't always this way. When Breitbart News first broke the news of the wave of unaccompanied minors from Central America, the media sensed an opportunity and jumped all over the story. Under the misguided impression that emotional blackmail would move the needle on immigration, the media couldn’t wait to exploit broadcast and publish photos of these abandoned children for their own mercenary political purposes.
Naturally, the media ignored the gang members, drug dealers, coyotes, and sexual abuse of these children drawn to America by Obama's promise of amnesty for all.
With the help of a Barack Obama more interested in playing pool than governing, the media's propaganda camping blew up in the left's face. What the people saw was chaos, and an AP/GfK poll released Wednesday shows that the result was the American public rebuking Obama and the media on almost every question surrounding the border crisis and even immigration reforms.
So that's why you know more about what's happening overseas than on our own border.
Despite the heinous newsroom budget cuts.
Despite the fact that a full two-thirds of those polled see illegal immigration as a serious issue.
The media won't cover the issue because there is no political upside for them.

His stance on our southern border enforcement is indeed troubling and now with the invasion of illegal aliens from Central America, obama is beyond the pale, and we should be up in arms. This guy thinks he's a dictator. Pathetic? U Betcha!

Agreed. I just seems it's one fiasco after another with this incompetent POTUS, who then seems to always turn it into a distraction or a so called phony issue. This guy is beyond the pale.

Jake, I hate to mention it but this seems to be the MO for all of our recent presidents, I guess it is in some kind of book they get when they enter the white house, however I will admit that this particular clown is more inept than almost anyone in recent memory and as such he needs to distract more than most.

The first and foremost responsibility of the Federal Government is to provide for the common defense. Someone should tell oBlamer about it.

I do too. Feel free to use it to make the point. Obummer what a bummer.

He is exposing himself as the most inept man in Washington DC. So much was given to him and he squandered it away.
