Hi All
Ever since I backed up my computer I cannot read NFF files in Photo Gallery. I get these error messages " M.S Visual C+ Run Time error R6025." "Photo Gallery Codec Host has stopped working, Close Program. " " NFF files out of memory or Hard Drive near capacity." I have 16gig of memory and 550gig spare on my hard drive. I have reloaded Windows Photo Gallery twice I have tried many fixes from computer sites, with no success this same problem seems to go back as far as Windows Vista. Any Help you can give me I would appreciate. TK's REJ.

Never heard of NFF, Nikon RAW is NEF, and Picasa, free from Google, will read them just fine. I'd hang it up and get Picasa, the poor man's Lightroom.

You may have somehow corrupted your Codec.
I would suggest maybe re-downloading the current Codec, there was just recently an update to the latest Nikon Codec so it will read the D810 NEF files.

FYI
.nff files are "Neutral File Format", but they are not native Nikon files so my assumption was that the OP meant .nef files.

Sounds like you made a defective backup.

Time to reinstall.

Download and accept this one. If it still does not work then you may have corrupted something in Windows itself.

I have just downloaded and installed this program, No luck. I have 14 Microsoft visual C+ programs that are part of the Windows 7 64 bit installation. does anybody out there know which one contains the Run Time error. I have been trying for two days to get in touch with Mircrosoft, no luck yet. TK's REJ

Copy the error code from the msg window and post here. I can try to look it up.

I hate to tell you this but I am not a computer person, I have no Idea how to do what you ask. The error reads as follows " Microsoft Visual C+ Run time error R6025 pure virtual function call". I hope this helps.

Try a "System Restore"....

1) Start your computer

2) Click the Start button then select All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then click System Restore.

3) In the new window, select "Restore my computer to an earlier time" option and then click Next.

4) Select a system restore date prior to when you experienced this problem from list of available restore points, and then click Next.

5) Click Next on the confirmation window.

6) This will restore system files back to their original state before you made changes. However, anything "new you installed or added such as codecs" will be deleted and will need to be re-installed.

6) Restart the computer when the restoration is finished
