Spreading disease by plane travel has just gotten one step worse - ebola.

I wouldn't want to be part of the team that is treating him. A deadly disease with no cure is a scary thing, and this spreads so easily.

I have heard they're bringing two of the infected home. What's worse is that they're being brought to two different hospitals, thereby increasing the risk of the spread of ebola. Where is the logic in that? It seems to me that the officials would have at least put the two in the same place.

Yes, it is scary. I saw a doctor interviewed on TV this morning, and he tried to be reassuring. The patient(s) will be handled by experts in the deadly disease field. He said the medical personnel involved are not concerned about this because they know how the system works, and they know what to do.

He said that in Africa, customs, traditions, and rumors interfere with proper medical treatment and help to spread the disease quickly.

Irresponsible human behavior is the greatest concern. Time will tell how this works out.

It's funny no one here was concerned about the Ebola epidemic until an infected doctor flew back here...

I just heard on the news that the two are now going to the same hospital--that's something, at least.
