While my wife was having some dental work done in the local hospital I nipped down the road to Samlesbury Hall.
Sadly it was a dull day but here a few sample photographs for you to look at. It is used regularly as a wedding venue I would imagine it would make great place to have a wedding.

Excellent shots John, I must give that place a visit.I used to drive passed that place a lot when I used to drive to Blackburn.

Thanks Jim, it was a rotten day so I might go back when the weather is better. By the way it's free to park and £3 to go in the hall, also nearby at J31 is Brockholes Nature Preserve which can be good for wildlife.

Excellent shots of the place. I find it interesting that in the intervening 700 years, other than some improvements on exterior décor, basic home design hasn't changed.
Either good design to begin with, or architects are just plain lazy.
